       A mural can be the making of an interior (or exterior too), often giving the illusion of space and light. A mural is a great way of making any area just that little bit more special. It can enliven a dull room, open out a small one, or create a great conversation piece, which can be a bonus in a public setting such as a restaurant. Trompe l'oeil (meaning "trick of the eye")

      Many murals become or contain trompe l'oeil. Something as simple as a painted mouse on a skirting board is considered to be trompe l'oeil. As murals are often painted to create an illusion of one sort or another, such as an opening out onto a beautiful landscape, they can often be considered as being trompe l'oeil too.
